Due to the large amount of rainfall in China after entering the rainy season in summer this year, carrot planting bases have been severely flooded. Inner Mongolia belongs to a plateau climate, and compared to low altitude plain areas such as Shandong, it would not have suffered from rain disasters in previous years. However, this year is different. Large areas of carrot planting bases in Inner Mongolia have been flooded by rainwater, and the accumulated water in the bases cannot be quickly discharged, resulting in severe water soaking of carrots. As a result, carrots have a high water content, and there is a risk of rotting due to excessive moisture during later preservation. So for the 4.5kg carrots to be shipped to Dubai at the end of July, we are particularly cautious and must ensure quality. Therefore, we choose to ship them from a land that is not severely flooded, because after being flooded, it may not be visible in the short term, but after long-distance transportation, the problem may appear after the one-month shipping schedule arrives at the port. At the same time, we also adjust the temperature setting of the reefer container to control the temperature during transportation and minimize its impact on quality.
In July, a total of 10 containers of fresh carrots, size S and L, were shipped to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq in the Middle East. The goods that had already arrived at the port have received positive feedback from customers regarding their quality.
